Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Sure! I’m Lale, and I graduated with a degree in Industrial Product Design in 2015. After several years of education and work experience in that field, life presented me with the opportunity to enter the world of game design. I’ve been working as a Game Artist with the Unico Studio team for over five years now.

What inspires you when drawing characters?

I’ve loved watching cartoons and animated movies since my childhood, often drawing their characters. It’s difficult to pinpoint one specific source of inspiration, but I would say this visual memory plays a significant role. Additionally, the vision and discussions within our art and design team greatly contribute to my creative process.

Which artwork was the most challenging for you?

Actually, each character presents a new challenge for me, as they all have unique characteristics. I would say that expressing these traits in a simple way is both the hardest and the most enjoyable part of the process. We’ve had many discussions about Lily from Brain Test 4, since she is the main character, and I found that one to be the trickiest 🙂.

Which is your favorite character to draw?

It’s tough to choose just one favorite; I love them all! 🙂 However, I have a soft spot for Megan from Crazy High School in Brain Test 2.

What is your ultimate dream project?

Collaborating with major brands like Pixar or Disney on a Brain Test project would be my dream job. It’s truly exciting to imagine how the Brain Test versions of iconic characters would look!

What advice do you have for aspiring artists?

As a product designer in mobile gaming, I believe there isn’t just one correct path to success. It’s essential to remain open to new trends and stay updated with industry developments. I would encourage designers to continuously enhance their design vision as much as possible.
